One thing I do is I tell me class straight up that they may use courier 12. If your prof is over 45, chances are that's the font she or he used in grad school.

If you feel that's just too much, there are lots of perfectly acceptable fonts that are bigger than times new roman 12. Frankly, as I age, I find tnr 12 kind of tough to read. Courier 12, by contrast is very easy on the eyes.

I'm gonna have to use Courier 12 and I'll use quotations effectively. It's just frustrating to me that I'm going to have a branch out into not exactly relative areas of my subject to reach the length. It's almost like the professor needs to say "20 pages" to stress the importance of this paper, but she probably knows they'd all be better off at 8 or 12 dense pages. Basically, I'm going to have to get into lengthy descriptions of Durer's subject matter when that really isn't important to my point. Too bad umlauts don't take more space.

This one book I'm working with, published in 1870, is attributed only to Mrs. Charles Heaton, her first name not bothered with. I find that kind of wild.

I hate TNR, Courier is way better.

Does anyone like it? I'm surprised Arial or something isn't the default.

Anyone know if that documentary Helvetica is worth a rent?

I've come to hate Arial too. I like Calibri, the Windows 2007 era default.

Arial is pretty awful on the printed page.

I'm not a big fan, just the first san serif that came to mind.

The name of the site www.dictionaryofarthistorians.org is difficult to read as intended.

Thanks, I'll make a note. Guess I didn't try too hard to figure it out.

:?: I have no idea if my sophomoric observation came across as intended, and it's not worth delving into. Time to go to bed.

I got the joke, but it also spurred me to add her first name to my citation.
