Random Thoughts, with or without steagles; preferably sans

Postby WilliamC » Fri Mar 20, 2009 15:18:05

As someone who was posted crazy stuff while drunk I can sympathize with mose. Sometimes it is easier to talk about personal stuff on here(or it seems like it at the time). The waking up the next day and remembering bits and pieces is definitely the worst part about it.

Anyway, keep on truckin' mose.
Do it again!

I disagree. Talking about things is good, and it can be easier to talk to anonymous strangers online than to friends, family, therapists, etc. in real life. And just because the other participants last night were (mostly) unmarried, childless drunks doesn't automatically invalidate everything they said.

that's a trap for a creepy steagles post if there ever was one.
if you don't know what the wrestlers are trying to do--how certain moves and holds are supposed to work and so forth, then it might just look like too sweaty guys rolling around on a mat.

Oh. I'm replying to a Steagles post. Um. OK.

i think the best thing for all of us would be to get this thread to 50 pages tonight, then lock and delete it.

Probably I'm the only person who finds this particularly funny. But I have to ask: why diet pepsi? To make up for the rest of it?

I ask as the guy whose food consumption is mostly processed sweet and/or savory stuff that would give PtK the appalled vapors, yet buys low-fat peanut butter, 1 percent milk, etc.

Hey Daj, I order a number two (double whopper meal); large; with a diet coke all the time. The reason I go with the diet is, I like the taste of diet soda better than the other stuff.

But you're right. I always feel kinda weird ordering all that junk and a diet soda.

Actually though, drinking diet soda vs, other stuff probably does help a lot. I'm still pretty much at my fighting weight.

As a general rule, I'm not convinced that talking about your feelings is a good thing. I suppose it goes against our therapeutic culture, but I believe there's value in suppressing your feelings.

This is actually my rationale for the reduced-fat peanut butter, 1 percent milk, etc. At some point that became my baseline for how that stuff is supposed to taste. Now if I get the normal, it's disgustingly rich.

Believe me, that kid would be much better off if he did suppress his feelings. Really, crying over a Mets loss? He needs to toughen up some.

I wish you guys had W and Vogue at your work so we could debate Scarlett Johanssen Dolce Gabbana ads vs the Slutty Italian Guess ads.

(Yeah, I know I've beaten this horse.)

no, diet soda is still shit. while the artificial sweetners they use are calorically insignificant, they do just as much harm by throwing off your insulin levels to the high side, which promotes the storage of fat. they're also known to throw off your palette, and to cause cravings of other highly sweetened products.

steagles actually grew up hating soda because of the fizz, so he's been a water drinker for the whole of his life. i can drink it now, and enjoy it, but 98% of the time, i reach for the water.

If DC tap water had caffeine in it, I'd drink a lot less soda.

I can dig it Steagles. Aspertame, or whatever that stuff is, is probably some killer stuff. I doubt if anyone knows all of the long term things it might do to us. But I don't care. My insulin levels are fine and I don't have a fat problem. I just prefer the taste of the diet stuff.

And I know suger is bad if you get too much and there is tons of sugar in non-diet soda. It doesn't throw off my palette. I don't crave sugar hardly ever. Cheese steaks and Cheese burgers and pizza and fries and biscuits with sausage gravy. That's the stuff for me. Sugar is not a big deal.
