Minerva McGonagall (sp?)

What I was going for was why doesn't Ron have grandparents and where are Harry's grandparents, etc? Not why aren't there old wizards in general. So elder generation was a stupid way of putting it.

I mean, why don't they even bother to tell us that Harry's grandparents are dead? They probably shouldn't be expected to be that old.

Also I'm watching game 5.2 of the World Series. We're winning 4-3, and it's the bottom of the 8th. I feel pretty good about this late lead.

Now that Harry Potter's been brought up, I'm just gonna put this out there-- has anyone here seen "Wizard People, Dear Readers?" It's by Brad Neely of "George Washington" (on youtube) fame.

Basically, he dubbed over the entire first Harry Potter movie and it is, without a doubt, one of the top 5 funniest "movies" I have ever seen. It takes a pretty specific sense of humor to get it, I guess, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's brilliant end to end.

Do it. Someone.

Do you need to buy it or is it available online?

Also, Longoria just popped to Chase.

I fast forwarded through the bottom of the 8th. I've probably rewatched Game 5.2 4 times now, and I haven't watched the bottom of the 8th yet. I get really impatient for the winning the World Series part of the game after the top of the 8th for whatever reason.

it's fo' free. You just need to have the DVD for sorcerer's stone. watch the movie on mute and just play the audio through your CD or MP3 player or whatever.

They were all killed off by Voldemort, that bastard.

You need a cat.

Unfortunately, my wife is ridiculously allergic to them. She'll sometimes get a scratchy throat if she's around cat owners who have leftover hair on their clothes. I wouldn't be surprised if her throat starting itching if she visited icanhascheezburger.com.

Last night, I put down some glue traps, which have worked in the past (minus the inhumane death of the little varmints), but no sign this morning.

I got a 9.75 out of 10 on a ten question assignment where I left three questions blank. Got to think the TA didn't even open that one.

You get graded by TAs? Aren't you a grad student?

Yeah, I'm a grad student. I guess I'm not positive, but I think the two TAs help with grading. This class is huge and the assignments aren't papers but sets of reference questions to answer, so it doesn't bother me.

You ever forget a website? I used to read the Freakonomics blog on the NYT website everyday. For some reason, even though I really enjoy reading it, I totally forgot about the site and it wasn't until yesterday that I remembered that I hadn't read it in 4-5 weeks.
