Hagan is only running a point ahead of Obama right now, so if Hagan is going to win, it would seem Obama is going to carry NC.

I'm not sure that's true, so I'm going to say 538 was a little quick on the trigger, but then Nate Silver is probably a lot more sober than I am right now.

FNC calling PA now.

They were saying that somewhere - it might have been OH, there are upwards of 11 point disparities between exit polls and actual returns so far in certain precincts.

ABC: Alabama and Arkansas to McCain

(they also project the Hagan win)

Seriously, I can't believe networks are calling states with 0% returns. Isn't that what created phase 1 (of 95) problems in 2000?

Chamblis in the lead but no one will call it. NPR was saying that it could go run-off because of some independent.

Might be wrong but I think the winning candidate needs 50%, or else the top two have a run-off.

Yeah, that's why they were saying the independent could cause a run off.

Warner winning every county in Virginia so far. That's shocking.

Well, CNN didn't cal Maine for Obama until he was leading 2 to 1.
I don't mean 2 to 1 percentage-wise, I mean 2 votes to 1 vote. That's some small precinct.

Did they call PA yet? FNC did 20 minutes after saying they weren't ready. Who watches ABC news anyway?

Matthews I think just said that basically all suburban areas out here have gone for Barack. Smerconish explaining Bucks County went huge for Obama. No true word on Chester County yet.

I grew up in Virginia. I figured that Warner would win big, but every single county? Seriously?

It's over.

I think NPR said that Chester County was the only Philly suburb to go strong Bush in 2000 and 2004.

I mean, probably. And I've been the one saying it has been over for a couple of weeks now, but Obama hasn't won a Bush state yet. So maybe a bit of patience is in order. Wait till NC or Florida or VA gets called.

It did, but lots of new voter registrations for Democrat since, and quite a few switches from Republican to Democrat as well.

My thing isn't necessarily that he "won" PA, but that it looks like the voting seems to be mirroring the pre-election polls. I figured if there was a state that might get crazy because of the Bradley effect it would be PA, but then again, it might just be because I grew up in the coal region of PA and was anticipating the moronic racism to show itself here.

OK, but votes still haven't come in there yet. I dunno. I mean, Obama is going to win, but nothing that has happened so far tonight, except maybe Obama in Orange County, FL, has made me feel any more confident of that fact that earlier today.
