One time you saw Yankee stadium from the window of an airplane, and they have lots of championship experience. I'd sign you, Trent

Damn straight, Wood. Damn straight.

Palin is a shining light for all of us - for anyone who has been held back or denied an opportunity for lack of skill or knowldge or other "qualifications." Why can't I be a ML reliever? I played high school baseball. Sure, I probably couldn't break 70 MPH at this point in my life, but what else does Geoff Freaking Geary have going for him. I am the father of multiple children. I can relate to the young fans that are so important to future of the game. Not to mention that I would be an awesome clubhouse guy; pure grit. It's not fair.

yes but does your house border a major league stadium? i think not.

Game 2 will probably run into the VP debate if we end up winning the division and facing the Dodgers in the first round.

I'll bet, in all honesty, that Sarah Palin goes back to her hotel room at night and cries uncontrollably for hours. And I don't even mean that in a chauvinistic way. I mean I think she seriously is completely overwhelmed and just needs to cry it out. I can see it in her face and hear it in her voice.

2. I checked on both my wife and my diplomas. There does not seem to be an expiration date on either of them. Just thought some people could benefit from that info.

Several banks in Spain refused to get involved in this mess. I read an article about it a few days ago. The ones that did are in trouble. The ones that didn't saw what was coming and are fine. It was, however, a stupid example for me to use because who the heck cares about Spain. Many Americans saw this housing crisis coming, or are you disputing that fact?

So putting aside Spain, I myself heard about this coming over the past year, so I don't know how you can say that nobody knew about it or it was so darn hard to see coming. Even if it was hard to see coming, many people did (and that's the point!!!!). And I would like one of those people to be in charge of fixing the problem, since they probably have a better handle on it than some guy who was saying the economy was doing great just a few weeks ago. (I'm talking about Paulson, not McCain). Allowing someone with knowledge of the problem to fix it is so freaking common sense that I can't believe anyone would argue otherwise.

Even my 70+ year old landlord saw it coming two years ago. Two years ago she said that people are buying up these mortgages and they can't pay them and it would hit the fan eventually.

As for #2, I'm not sure what you're talking about, so maybe that isn't directed at me. I don't think any of our diplomas have expiration dates, and those people without diplomas probably haven't forgotten what they learned anymore than those with diplomas. If I went to any other grad school, I would have a M.S., but my school didn't officially offer terminal Master's degrees in my field at the time. They did do it in rare circumstances, but my switching labs over funding issues kept it from happening because I didn't have enough time in one lab, even though I had all the requirements for my PhD completed (classes, teaching requirements, specialist exam, specialist paper, lab tests, etc) except the actual dissertation. I guess if I went to a different school or my school had a terminal masters program, then I would be worthy of your respect. But as it is, I'm just a stupid waiter, someone to take care of the needs of the upper class like yourself. Thanks for reminding me of my place, Jeff. It says a lot about you.

katie is more effective than charlie in my opinion. im getting to the matt damon point here of wondering why more people aren't talking about this. its really just not funny anymore. at all. like think about it... if she has to take over... and she gets to select 2 (maybe more?) supreme court justices.

i've had a sense of humor about her for a while now.. but i dont think i can anymore. you gotta slow down with these videos, they arent very good for my health.

In all fairness, monk, I've seen jeff make posts that lead me to believe he's respectful of your education and intelligence. The "you're way overqualified" for what you're doing type of thing.

You're all a-holes. THEY HAVE TRADE MISSIONS. Things fly over Alaska. It's WHERE PLANES FLY FROM. Why is this so hard to understand? What countries can BARACK HUSSEIN BIN LADEN SEE FROM CHICAGO!!!!
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

i was just going to ask exactly what the h a "trade mission" between alaska and russia is. i wish katie would have asked that.

does anyone here know exactly what that meant? really?

actually just found a little air on it:

“In general, the main way governors get involved in foreign countries is economic - they try to get countries to invest and go on trade missions, but very rarely do they get involved in issues of national security, in part because the Constitution prevents them from doing so,” Kupchan said.

You can almost see the little wheels spinning in her head as she tries to remember what her study team told her the night before.

So much for her being a quick study. Even if McCain lives for 4 years, I don't think that's enough time for her to learn foreign policy, economics, etc.

this Couric interview is really making me sad, honestly. I'd honestly love to see someone try and spin this as "good" or "intelligent" or anything even remotely positive for the country. she's either making us all dumber, or to feel smarter by comparison

"Trade mission is an international trip by government officials and businesspeople that is organized by agencies of national of provincial governments for purpose of exploring international business opportunities. Business people who attend trade missions are typically introduced both to important business contacts and well placed government officials."
