When I like John McCain, he's being John McCain. I don't think he can be that when he's doing a formally prepared speech. He's best in debates and just riffing. All the stuff he's saying right now is just a bulleted list recited off of the party platform. I don't see he point.

True, but the problem is that it's so obvious he's doing that. And (maybe I'm wrong here) he doesn't project the mindless absolute conviction around them that Bush did, or Palin does.

To me, that's a plus... but I'm not much more reachable than PtK. This speech is reminding me of everything I like about McCain, but him giving it to this audience is like watching a zookeeper throw chum to a shark.

Is he going to not spend money or is he going to get everyone a job? They seem exclusive.

Really there isn't an excuse to not have an excellently written speech, no?
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I wish the 5-day forecast was shown on that green screen behind him so I could glean something new from this speech.

Yes. That is why this is probably the dumbest part of the whole political season, which is of course saying something.

He's going to change unemployment? Is he starting to touch substance?

Better hope the man doesn't win, or that money's going back to the taxpayer.

Hey, he said electric automobiles. I've got to admit I like that. Not just hybrid, but electric. But you don't need offshore oil for those, what gives?
