McCain with a pretty classy opening to his speech. But I gotta say that Palin's "Hollywood set" comment (which was pretty funny at the time) looks a little ridiculous now that McCain is standing in front of a green screen with cornfields and flags.

I do, by the way despise the asses who are disrupting the speech. It simply isn't right.

Oooh. Palin showing cleavage.

Fiorina attempted a speech with a refrain line last evening (for the multitudes who switched it off, 'twas "I know John McCain"). That's an intermediate styling that requires some practice, some ability. When it works, its impact has less to do with the words than the cadence.

neither she nor her listening audience graced it with anything resembling rhythm.
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

You know, I think they lifted that line from Montgomery Burns's campaign for governor.

They do the USA chant when asshat retarded hippie protesters start yelling crap to interrupt McCain.

Problem is that they're just interrupting McCain, from the perspective of the TV audience.

If I think about it long enough I might get offended by the "John is my homeboy" t-shirt.

What I mostly got from the intro video (which I thought was superbly well done, the part I saw after the end of the game) and the speech thus far, was how much better McCain is than the party he's leading.

Rooting out the special interests? These people *are* the special interests. Call them Big God.

Having been in the arena in 2004, it's very, very audible when these people start yelling. The way it is miked up, it's hard to hear on TV, I guess. But they show the people getting hustled out by guards. I think people realize what is going on.

This speech isn't really inspiring me. I can see Lax's view that McCain could come off a nice guy or whatever in person -- but this speech is laughable. People worried about their jobs? He's representing the poor and struggling American. It's totally contrived speech trying to spin his career. To be expected I guess...

If this speech isn't changing p-t-k's mind, I guess it's not reaching its target audience.
