I think I might be liking this speech than the audience does.

No, he's not. I think he's doing alright though, but he should really maybe think about chilling on these personal anecdotes for a minute.

I like that he came pretty close to throwing his party under the bus there.

McCain just touched all the Republican happy spots in about 45 seconds.

OK, so I'm the only person who seems to like the speech. It's not a typical sound bite speech for idiots with short attention spans.

He is really unconvincing delivering soundbites like the one he just did--then he really does end up in Monty Burns territory.

I don't think he would avoid doing this in certain instances.

It's really where in my opinion, he's least convincing.

The speech is fine. He isn't great at speaking but that is almost refreshing. He isn't contrived.

The words of the speech themselves are excellent.

By the way, the narrator of the McCain video was Robert Davi, Jake Fratelli from the Goonies.

Those aren't mutually exclusive.

This seems extremely contrived.

I would agree with this, except when he recites the Republican talking points.

Is the sound out of sync with the picture for everyone else?

edit: No, I don't mean this metaphorically.
