they've turned the water off in the entire building 'til 4:30 since 1230. no one can use any chemicals of any kind, so i've just been reading "the master and margarita" for the past few hours (hey floppy!). it's nice, but I'm probably going to be here 'til 1am or something absurd trying to catch up.

OH GOOD AND NOW SHE'S BRINGING THE NEW BF ON OUR ANNUAL GROUP BEACH TRIP. i'm going drunk.

Really? Over a customer service job? I remember the only good thing about those was knowing you could quit whenever you damn pleased.

Since you are going to the beach the next logical step is to find out the cheapest deposit you can put down at a hotel and then buy a gift card in that amount. Worst case scenario is you lose the deposit. Best case scenario is that you need a crowbar to pry her knees out of her ears. I'll take those odds every time if she was into you. Now it's your turn to return the favor.

  i don't know if you just make this $#@! up, or you or someone you know has actually done these things, but it cracks me up pretty regularly.

Well the Plan B has been a staple since biblical times I would imagine so that is nothing new.

Of course things have changed since I was single with disposable check cards and things like that so I'm just offering basic trial and error things that I have gone through when I was younger (and also advice given to me when I was younger by the older brothers of my friends). In this case there was a time I went down to Sea Isle with a chick I thought for sure I was hooking up with, reserved a room in the only hotel in the whole city (not sure if that is still the case or not) which set me back some coin and then it didn't work out for whatever reason and I lost the full amount for the room. So I guess you have to roll with the times and improvise.

I've been out with the kids since 10.30 this morning. We would be on our way to the airport right now, but Vox's flight got delayed and now I've got two-plus hours to kill.

Ken certainly has me beat in terms of summer jobs. I work at Rite Aid, he interns for the Phillies.

Have you thought about waiting tables at all? It's about the worst thing ever, but the most plausible way a young guy can make some money other than falling into construction, but you usually need an in for that.

This has nothing to do with cancer because let's admit it -every god damn thing in the world leads to cancer- but whenever I see reports that diet soda can actually lead to weight gain it always ends up being about people who think they can eat more because they are drinking diet soda. Seriously? You think you can eat like a gavone because you're drinking diet soda?

Yes, but you're getting paid actual US currency for your efforts.

True

The only reason they hired me is because I had to promise to work weekends in the fall, they weren't really hiring for summer only

It's going to fun when you quit September 1.

I've had to produce some tall tales to get summer jobs.

Ha, yeah I have a feeling it could happen but what the hell else am I going to do with my weekends? I don't know, probably will keep my word and work a few hours on Saturdays. College and all is coming up, but I can handle a few hours on a Saturday.

According to court papers, in February when Jerkstore worked in the North Schuylkill Elementary School, his sole job was to help a behaviorally-challenged student in a classroom setting.

Instead of doing that, troopers said, Jerkstore too much attention to others, especially a seven-year-old girl. Police said he took 30 photographs with the girl and posted them with inappropriate captions on his MySpace page. One picture called the second grader his "valentine."

Is it wrong to feel good about this on my part? He worked at the same mall as me, and used to always wait until I was done my shift (he worked at a retail store, which got done before the fast food restaurants) and tail me on my ride home, often trying to run me off the road. I am seriously thinking about going to the county jail to visit him, just to laugh at him.

I'm not being very Christian right now...

You're usually my go to guy on stuff like this and if you don't know how are we supposed to know???

Perhaps it's time to start printing the wwl.rhd bumper stickers?
