You can get more than one wear out of a pair of black pants so long as there are no bodily fluids on them.

I think for something like white dress shirts and black pants I would just drop them off to the cleaners every two weeks or so.

I can get like 2 weeks worth of wifebeaters for $20. I'll gladly pay $20 to not have to go up and down 3 sets of stairs a few times until my wife gets around to the laundry- note I don't want to sound like a chauvinist pig but laundry is her thing. I help out as much as I can. I do a lot of the day to day straightening up- like doing the dishes, taking out the trash, and cooking once in a while.

Yeah, like two, maybe three tops. And if this guy works at a restaurant or something, I'd have to imagine his clothes get nasty and smelly pretty quick. That's still a lot of black pants, Jeff
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

I will admit that while we don't go out and buy new underwear instead of doing laundry, we do have a lot of underwear to make far between wash loads.

I just got bitched out unfairly at my work and now I'm going to spend all night trying to decide whether I'd be better off voicing my rather reasonable self-defense which will surely get CCed to the guy who told on me and engender further bitterness or just continue to be nice to the guy and act like nothing happened because a petulant sad man who's nice half the time is a lot better than a petulant sad man holding a grudge.

Spending the last two hours pretending not to be furious was pretty awful.

1. Will this guy's incorrect judgment hurt your standing at the job?

You can take out your frustration by getting into a fistfight in the middle of the street with a random stranger who pissed you off.

Opening night is Friday. Aaagh. Lots of crazy stuff--Mortimer has turned out to be a total flake, and still doesn't know his lines. Miss Abby passed out in one rehearsal and missed a week because of a potassium deficiency, Miss Martha's husband had surgery and so she missed a few rehearsals, the set designer is AWOL, leaving Mrs. Vulture to do a lot of it.

But it should still be a good show, and you should all try to make it out. Tickets are only 5 bucks. Friday, Saturday, Sunday!

1. Yeah, the big boss now thinks I'm "having trouble juggling my two merged positions" even though that's not the case at all. I can probably get back to where I was in his esteem with only a few months of being on-point, but I definitely took an undeserved hit three hours ago.
2. Sort of. On the one hand, I'm awesome at my job and enjoyed my good reputation - if I quit tomorrow, they would be screwed for half a year; even though I'm at the bottom of the totem pole, since the ref librarian who trained me retired, there's a lot of stuff that I only I know how to do - but on the other hand, I'm out of there in fourteen months when I graduate, so maybe I shouldn't care too much.

Seems like everytime I post in these threads now I am posting about some kind of injury, and for someone like myself who was rarely ever injured this really blows. First the screwed up finger now I have a bi-lateral hernia, thank God for Worker's Comp. Can't taker anything other than Ibuprofen because they want me to feel if there is any sudden increase in pain because that could be dangerous.

I consult with the surgeon on June 5th and I have been told I will most likely have surgery. I was also told that it is now a very simple procedure so I am not really all that worried. My nuts and stomache hurt though.
Do it again!

Do you get the little micro sheath implanted around your intestine? My hernia procedure was annoying but now I'm kinda like RoboCop, so its some consolation.

Without knowing the details or the politics of your situation, I would say first of all, document everything. Keep track of who said what, why it might be unwarranted, etc. Presumably, you've got performance reviews, etc. Second, I think in general it's a good idea to stand up for yourself. Go to the big boss, and as nicely as possible, explain why this guy has made an error in judgment. Again, this will be easier if you have some documentation to back you up.

Fourteen months can be a long time, and you obviously have a stake in having the people you work for think well of you.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward writing a graceful e-mail, but I'm pretty sure when my boss responds, he'll CC the supervisor, and this guy is bitter and pathetic enough that he could really make my life a lot crappier at work and could purposely demand my time in a way that WILL hurt my performance at other aspects of the job.

So don't do it via email.
