How is this for a coincidence- I was about to order tickets for my wife and I to see Coldplay (Yeah I know) from stubhub but after I saw the commission and shipping costs it would have been over $400. I checked Craigslist and found a pair of the same floor seats but a few rows back for $300 (Yeah I know). So anyway I tell the guy I'm ten minutes from the city and would meet him anywhere with cash. He tells me he's from Bucks County and asked if we could meet on Wednesday at the Turf Club or something because he was going to the Phillies game. Wednesday happens to be the BSG game so we're just going to meet in the park somewhere. It worked out p erfectly.

That's funny. My first thought was that it was someone from the board but I told him the section and he basically said he would be nowhere near that. I'm supposed to meet him at the gate next to Bull's BBQ around 6:45 or so.

Pressure-treated Papa Wood had the emergency appendectomy last night at like 1:00 a.m. Hopefully he can be out of the hospital in 24-48 hours. Apparently it's like a 40 minute ride (when you're not in an ambulance) from the cruise ship to the hospital-- about $55 each way! My poor mom.

Woody, I hope he has a quick recovery. I'm glad they did the surgery, it made me nervous when you said they were going to wait and see.

BTW, an ER doc told me that (at least with kids) if you want to rule out appendicitis, have the patient jump up and down. If it hurts, don't rule it out.

Haha, I don't think he was in any shape to be jumping. Hopefully he'll be out of there in 24-48 hours -- in enough time to get back on the ship...

another big symptom is that you feel like you have to poop really bad but are constipated. (no lie)

Jeez, I never could have even tried to jump before mine. The whole runup was pretty strange. All day I had just a tiny little pain in that area, around prime time sat down to watch some tv with my parents and by the time the show was over couldn't even stand up, next morning had to carried Leftwich-style to the car. And mine hadn't exploded yet - which I hope was the case with your pops, Wood. My aunt had hers explode and by all reports was in excruciating pain before the operation. For me, it was bearable as long as I wasn't moving.

I guess my dad's was asploded or close to it b/c apparently he was puking and in major pain. They had him drugged up though. If it was anything like the time he had a kidney stone (boulder?) at 3 in the morning, I'm kind of glad I wasn't there.

I hope all goes well with your dad's recovery and that he's feeing well soon. I also hope that someone treats your mom to a stress relieving spa day with copious quanities of champagne upon her return. And, I hope that someone is treating you to the stress relieving activity of your choice as well

Glad to hear everything went well. My well-qualified prognosis is that he makes a full recovery and gets back to the ship by Thursday.

I just spent and hour and a half trying to replace the 2 nose pads in my glasses but I finally succeeded. Sadly it might have been the most challenging thing that I have done (non video-game division) in the past few years- especially when you have big goranimal hands like me. I usually wear and sleep in my contacts for 4 or 5 weeks in a row but I keep getting corneal abrasions so I have to start giving my eyes a break and wearing my glasses more often- at least until I can afford Lasik.

Where did the phrase "tard board" come from, and how did I miss it?
