I like this stuff:

I'm not a fan of pancakes in general, but these are tasty. Can't find it everywhere, although I've seen it in Giant.

Pancakes from scratch aren't all that hard. Then you can put as many grains in there as you want.

I learned that an acquaintance of ours had a boob job some years ago, and now I can't stop staring.

Not hard, but I've not found them as tasty as the mix that I mentioned.

These were from scratch -- we've got VoxJr on a low sodium diet, and from scratch pancakes and waffles are practically the only way I can get some fat in him AND control the sodium (with no sodium leavening substitutes, and cutting down on the salt).

It's just funny that the recipe says four grains, but there's only wheat, corn, and oats. I guess they were counting whole wheat flour and regular flour as two grains.

Since they were a hit, I am going to try and get either some flax, or some soy protein in them next time.

Some multi grains, like in bread, give you more fiber. These had extra fiber with the oatmeal, but I don't think the corn did much.

I didn't know either....I was hoping you guys could clue me in. :-D

But seriously folks, I can't vouch for that exact figure, but it has to do with the hydrogen inherent in the water molecule. I do know very little water produces a heck of a lot of hydrogen. It's just that all the common methods today take more energy to extract the hydrogen than energy harvested from the H, so it's a net loss. However, there are some who claim to advanced methods which will extract the H with very little energy input. Does it work?? Who can say at this point. My F-I-L is doing some experimenting building hydrogen generators right now. I'll keep everyone posted.....

hmm, i think you're talking about bond dissociation energies-- the O-H bond has a much higher dissociation energy than does the C-H bond.

Wood wood, my degree is in business. I'm not sure what I'd like to do right now. I just need a job to pay the loans. I guess my ideal plan would be to start dabbling in property ownership while working, in hopes of building up enough to sustain myself solely through that in 5-10 years. One of those properties would be a bar. That is my main interest so hopefully I can work towards that. Will it happen? Not a clue.

It's been a long time since I took chemistry or physics, but it sounds like what Bucky is describing violates the Law of Conservation of Energy. You can't convert water into hydrogen (and oxygen) without putting as much energy into it as you'd get back by burning the resultant hydrogen.
