Not only is it pretty cool, but someone in my neighborhood has a nice fire burning, which adds something to it cause it smells really nice outside.

Of course, an eclipse would be way sweeter at the shore in the summer with a few brews, but you take what you can get.

I was born during an eclipse.

Man first set foot upon the moon on my 6th birthday.

I shoulda been an astronaut.

How does Subway have two restaurants within five blocks of each other in Georgetown?

It's among the cheapest franchises out there, and they don't really seem to care much about protecting their franchisee's territory. We have two in my town of 10k.

you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

there's at least 3 subways in my town, we have a lot more people that 10k, but then again we have 2 McDonald's and 2 Dunkin' Donuts and you can see the other from the parking lot. But the Wendy's mysteriously closed down... probably because it was in between the 2 McDonalds.

Ya?

I guess you're going to tell me I should always go to a local place, but if you're on a lunch break in Center City (or walking to your bank, which accounts for the two times a year I go to Subway), you can't just hop on down to South Philly and back.

I'll never understand why someone would actively choose Subway, or Quiznos, or a similar mass chain over a local sub shop, if that option is available.

That's a big if, when you actually think about it. And plenty of local deli's and eateries make utterly shit hoagies. At least with Subway you know you're getting something average.

I eat it from time to time, mostly because it's one of the cheapest lunch options near my office, it's right across the street, and when I eat it I feel healthy.

But I'm never happy about it, and I'm always pining for a nice Italian sub from this place by my shore house as I eat the not enough meat on a crappy roll sandwich.

I think the larger, general point is that your clothes always have this weird bready smell after being inside a Subway that doesn't go away until after laundry.

I'll submit that it's hard to find a real, credible Italian hoagie even here in north Jersey. But the Jewish delis are outrageously good.

Well, there are differences between a hoagie and a sub to be sure, but I've had some kick sub sandwiches in N. Jersey.
