Seven years is a long time. It's not like he's straight out of high school. He's an NFL OC for a team that just won a playoff game.

Les Bowen, the guy who broke the hiring, had suggested previously the list of coaches who could/want to work with Howie was small.

Pederson took a 2 year old football program the state playoffs all four years he was the head coach with a 33-7 record in the regular season and an 8-3 record in the post-season. Not too bad. Its part of his narrative, and I am fine with that. If he can make things happen in the pros, I am even more OK with it.

Antwaan Randle El took over launching a private school football program in the shadow of Redskin Park (Virginia), and darn near drove the school into financial problems. Although that was the administrators fault, with his desire to have a big time football program, that adventure lasted a whole season. So winning in HS is not a terrible marker comparatively.

I just don't see it as a straight line. Reid and Banner were the keys through that era. Until proven otherwise, I take Lurie's word that Howie really only ran the 2012 draft. I think it was a collaborative in 2013 and 2014, in which there are reports that we had a really small draft board because "measurables," and draw your own conclusions from the pretty good Ertz pick and Huff and Barkley reaches, and that Chip did everything for 2015.
