I was so effing pumped when he was hired. i was so excited to see a new kind of football, and the players were excited, and then that game against the Skins. And then after that year he became another boring NFL coach, afraid of chances, boring plays, poor preparation, poor in-game adjustments, just everything i hate in most nfl coaches. I don't know if the fear of losing a job changes you on the fly, or what, but the guy that used to use a wheelbarrow to carry his balls was now getting by with a matchbox car. Maybe it was a year too early to fire him, but he did himself no favors with the way he coached most of the last two years.
I agree 100% with this. I really though Chip was the next big thing. I probably would have given him another year and say you still have personnel control, but I, the owner, have to sign off on anything about X threshold and if you make the playoffs next year, you get full control again. I would have liked to see another year to see if he can figure it out. In the end though, i get why he was fired, 2015 was pretty much a disaster and chip and lurie didn't get along at all. Would have liked to see both sides handle this better, really.
