There has been a lot of buzz around baseball that the Pirates are considering next year moving Andrew McCutchen to LF (if not traded) and Starling Marte to CF and the Marlins are considering moving Christian Yelich from LF to CF and Marcel Ozuna from CF to LF. Both teams believe their LF are better defenders than their CF

He's also stinky.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Not sure when they did it, or if anyone already mentioned it, but they added a few columns to the teams page on baseball reference.

For instance, now you can see that the Phillies have the 7th most hits of all time (182,680 prior to tonight) and they have the dubious distinction of having allowed the most runs all time: 96,316

thanks to seeing a fangraphs article about him, i just noticed that this year beltre has passed griffyjr, gehringer, brouthers, b.robinson, rose, and bagwell to move up to 35th in career fwar, just a few tenths behind clemente.
in rwar, he's all the way up to 30th, and most notably passed chipper and brett this year.

weird career: after a roller-coaster start (great age 20-21, big dip due party to a scary stomach injury, mind-blowing walk year, an overpaid mediocrity in seattle), has put up six straight years of elite production on both in his thirties and still plays really good defense at 3b.

i'll bet cd still thinks he's a lazy failure.

Including this year, will have received MVP votes in 8 seasons (2nd, 3rd, 7th, 7th, 9th, 15th, 15th, this year) but only made 4 all-star teams.

Debuted at 19, and made first all-star team at 31.

May end up with more homers in his 30s than 20s.

Great player.

Don't have any idea why the Phils would be interested in Desmond. He's basically an average major league hitter whose value comes from good defense, and his defensive numbers have decreased steadily over his last 4 years. His decent offensive year this year has been driven by the highest BABIP of his career, and the Phils are stacked with CF options (Altherr, Quinn, Herrera, Moniak and Stephen down the road). Seems like a nice guy, but let someone else pay him the big bucks (Braves--go for it!).

If Heyman is close on Hellickson's value he should accept a QO from the Phils.

Wouldn't we have to give up a pick to get him too? Yeesh.
