I always knew that Shore kept a spreadsheet of old posts to use against us.
Mike Trout's Mercedes plowed into a stopped car after a game Wednesday, a collision that left one person with significant injuries.
Trout was uninjured in the three-car crash on the 55 freeway in Santa Ana., Calif., that occurred at 7:48 p.m. PT, according to information provided by the California Highway Patrol in a statement to USA TODAY Sports. The woman in a Chevrolet Sonic suffered "major injuries" and was transported to Orange County Global Medical Center in Tustin.
A hospital spokesperson was unable to provide an update on the status of the woman injured.
"Mike Trout was involved in a car accident earlier tonight," Angels general manager Billy Eppler said in a statement released by the club. "I have spoken with Mike this evening and he feels fine. He is at home with his roommate and planning on traveling with the club to Seattle tomorrow afternoon. We will update as more information becomes available."
Trout was traveling southbound on the 55 when traffic ahead of him came to a stop due to an unrelated accident, according to the CHP. Trout's car swerved and the right-front of his his car collided with the rear bumper of the Sonic. The impact sent the compact car careening into a truck stopped ahead of it, before the Sonic came to a rest alongside a fence on the shoulder of the roadway.
Trout and the driver of the truck stopped to check on the well-being of the woman in the Chevrolet, according to the CHP.
A video obtained by Fox 11 in Los Angeles shows Trout cooperating with a patrol officer; an expanded version of the video shows a young woman removed from her car by Orange County emergency personnel.

[this is a second notice for the TWW]
Ted Williams Walk will be on Tuesday, September 27 from 3pm--5pm and will start at the entrance to the old Ben Franklin Hotel near the SE corner of 9th & Chestnut Sts. We will walk throughout CC Philly and conclude at the only establishment still in business from 1941, McGillins Olde Ale House.
Ted is, of course, the last major leaguer to hit .400 over the course of the long season. And he finalized this feat during a season-ending double-header against the Philadelphia A's at Shibe Park in 1941. Though technically he was at .400 [.3995537], it wasn't .400, so he decided to play the next day's games and risk hitting under .400. But, it seems Ted was nervous the night before these games and he chose to walk off this nervousness with an hours long walk throughout Center City. Accompanied by clubhouse attendant, Johnny Orlando, he set off from the Ben Franklin Hotel at 9th and Chestnut Sts.
In the next day's doubleheader at Shibe Park, Ted hit 6 for 8, ending with a .406 average. He is the last major leaguer to accomplish this feat.
We do not have an accurate path of his walk to fame but we have created a made-up route that includes some contemporary drinking establishments. Why these? Well, it seems Johnny Orlando liked to imbibe and agreed to go with Ted only if he could stop and wet his whistle every now and then. Ted would sip a coke while Johnny had his beer. Only one of these establishments is still open and it will conclude the walk.
At each stop, we will have an explanation of what he did in his At Bats, all eight of them - so we will visit eight places!
The walk will end at McGillin's Olde Ale House-where we will toast Ted for his fabulous feat.
Their will be a fee of $5 per person for a Toast to Ted at McGillin's Olde Ale House at the last stop of the tour. If you plan to attend, please send a check to Seamus Kearney at

10:03pm: Braves catcher A.J. Pierzynski has decided to retire, according to David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (Twitter link). Pierzynski was hugging teammates and handing out cigars after the Braves’ win over the Mets on Saturday, per O’Brien.
10:37pm: False alarm: Pierzynski is not retiring, reports O’Brien (Twitter link). Starter Julio Teheran handed out cigars to celebrate the recent birth of his son.
10:52pm: In yet another twist, Pierzynski has left the door for retirement open, telling O’Brien, “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know what tomorrow’s going to bring, but if that’s it, then it was fun”
