Just think how good he'd be if he didn't have all those Pitcher Abuse Points and Rules of 30s.

Kershaw is going on the 15 day DL because of his back. That sucks.

Outstanding article. Who knew AJ Burnett might've been worth the money just for what he taught Cole Hamels?

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up coaching. Wouldn't have expected that but he helped a lot of Pirates pitchers too.

It's a harsh condemnation of Rich Dubee that the pitchers have to learn new pitches from each other rather than the PC. The last PC that the Phillies had that was a real teacher had to be Johnny Podres. With all of the young arms that are in this system that are going to need someone like JP. McClure isn't that.

I think that's very common, so no condemnation at all.

That's true. One damn pitching coach can only do so much. Maybe help a few guys. Johnny Sain is the only guy I've ever read about who was consistently good with helping entire staffs. And he always fought with managers and never stayed in one place for long.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_ ... hing_coach

There are most likely some pitching coaches who do more harm than good.

It seems like for many years, the pitching coaches' main job was to be the manager's drinking buddy.

I'd be great at this. I'd specialize in RBI men and reliefers.

They were just talking about Tito on Sports Reporters and how amazing it would be if he helped bring titles to both Boston and Cleveland.

They didn't mention it but if they do win it all that will be his third ring and it would pretty much guarantee that he will be a HoFer. I always loved him so that is pretty kickass.

Was Jose Altuve supposed to become the best hitter ever? Feels like everytime I check into his stats through the years he keeps having more ungodly numbers.

He was rated the #13 prospect on the astros right before he got promoted:

http://www.minorleagueball.com/2010/12/ ... s-for-2011

That page is funny, It talks about how thin the system is but there's 6 or 7 quality major leaguers on there. Grading prospects is hard.
