really? I don't think I've seen an argument this year. I think the replay has genuinely changed the game or at least the non-playing part of the game.

Was he arguing balls and strikes? Hard to do that from the dugout.

I don't have the heart to make fun of Jim Joyce. The man literally cried because of this.

Today, there would have been a short replay followed by a celebration.

But there's still no more manager/ump arguments, as I predicted when they made the replay announcement. I miss those. I want to see Pete kick up some dirt.

I like when they pull the bases out and chuck them. Then they kick dirt all over home plate. I like the crazy minor league guy who high crawls to the pitcher's mound. Picks up the resin bag. Pulls the "pin" with his teeth and chucks it.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Is that all it takes? You want to behead a man because he's a stinky reliefer, but you won't make fun of an umpire because he cried.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

Padres executive chairman is upset:

"It's been embarrassing. I don't know how else to put it," Fowler said. "Our performance on the road trip, 1-7, was pathetic.

"I'm a very competitive individual. I think I've won a lot more than lost in my life. This baseball experience has been very frustrating, very embarrassing."

"The performance by our team (Tuesday), I can understand how (former owner Ray) Kroc would have grabbed the microphone. It's that frustrating."

Fowler singled out right-hander James Shields, who allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings on Tuesday. Shields, who signed a four-year, $75 million free-agent contract with the Padres in February 2015, has been the subject of trade talks.

"To have a starter like (James) Shields perform as poorly as he did yesterday is an embarrassment to the team, an embarrassment to him," Fowler said.

Bobby Cox sure made it look easy for a lot of years.

Cubs have 39 wins and their closer only has 10 saves, that's pretty amazing
