The Kings roster is a bunch of power forwards or dudes that should be playing power forward.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

The rumor has it that they want a vet for the 8th pick, but Thad doesn't really fit well next to Boogie and they have a lot of money committed to PFs the next couple of years. I'd probably do it, but I seriously doubt it's on the table.

I know a number of you guys are pretty high on Vonleh; is he a huge reach at 3? In all the mocks I have seen he appears to be a 6-8 pick. Also, I was listening to The Fanatic last night and they were talking up Exum at 3 based on how the game has shifted from an inside game to an outside game and how awesome it would be to have two 6-6 guards to fill the basket from outside.

Please let it be so. We can use the pick to get McDermott, who's not going to make it to 10 because he scored surprisingly well athletically at the combine to go with his elite offensively skills. If we got Embiid at 3, McDermott at 8 and Stauskas at 10 I'd be drooling.

Except both can't really shoot. Still take exum over Parker tho. Vonleh is so intriguing to me but you really have to know how you think he would develop to take him at 3. Trust in Hink

ESPN

The Cleveland Cavaliers have 7-footer Joel Embiid at the top of their draft board, but it's still early in the process and the team needs to obtain medical information on the Cameroon native's back injury, sources told ESPN.com on Wednesday.

Sources also told ESPN.com that although Embiid is first on the organization's wish list, that doesn't mean that Cavs general manager David Griffin -- who had the interim tag lifted earlier this month -- isn't also considering Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker with the first pick.
.
.
Sources told ESPN.com that Embiid is the early front-runner for the top pick as long as his back is OK. The team's medical personnel will get an in-depth look at him in the coming weeks.

A source with direct knowledge told ESPN's Andy Katz that Embiid's agent, Arn Tellem, still is going to decide whether he will send Embiid to Cleveland for a physical or interview. Tellem might try to direct Embiid to a certain franchise and not have him go through a physical or interview for any team but the team he wants Embiid to play for next season.

Here's what I'm hearing:

Embiid: incredible talent but likely to be wheelchair-bound within 3 years
Wiggins: incredible talent but lazy and not a driven Jordan-esque psychopath
Parker: incredible talent but very fat and actually not really all that athletic

SOUNDS LIKE WE'RE TRADING DOWN
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

let's go the other end though:

Embiid: physical specimen, Hakeem Olajuwon level athletic talent
Wiggins: LeBron level athlete with limitless potential
Parker: gifted natural scorer, got a bit of Carmelo in him (in the good and the bad way)
Olivia Meadows, your "emotional poltergeist"

We saw Nerlens Noel slide to No. 6 last draft because of injury concerns in what was by far a weaker class. If teams are concerned with Embiid's back do you see the same thing happening to him? I think if I were a gm and I wanted a big guy I might pass on Embiid for either Randle or Vonleh. How far could you see him sliding?

Chad Ford (1:52 PM)
The back is an issue. But no one knows how much of an issue it is. If he gets a clean bill of health (totally clean) he's in the mix with the Cavs at No. 1. If it's clean, but with minor issues, I still think he goes Top 5. If this will require surgery or require him to miss a portion of his rookie season, he slides to 8-12.

Stupid teams do stupid teams but yeah, I would definitely do that and would also be willing to take back one of their bad contracts (Landry, Thompson). Between the Lakers, Kings, and Hornets, decent number of teams rumored to be open to trading their pick. Would love for the Sixers to figure out a way to get one of them without trading 10 #inHinkiewetrust. Being able to fill our 3 remaining starting line-up openings with 3 top 10 picks from the class would be fantastic.
