I thought they had 20-30 million in cap space this year-maybe this is why he's kept the money available. Tanaka would fit perfectly into Halladay's spot.

They won't get tanaka nor likely will be serious players for him. But maybe there's a ripple effect to the point that a Jimenez or Santana falls into their range. I doubt it, but maybe.

Been a long time since I spent time talking to local Reading sports fans, but the story about the team being ginned up to flip at a high ROI seems gospel in Berks. Smart money move (I.e. those greedy SOBs-um, what, um) , but what is the basis? Kind of dismissed that around here...

I don't see Tanaka ending up anywhere but the Yankees. If there is a ripple effect for the Phillies I hope it's one that doesn't cost us our 2nd round pick. Honestly, I'm clueless what the plan is, if there is one. I'd rather sign the Cuban CF I think. I'd be ok with Garza.

sounds like slavery TBQH. I don't know anti-trust courts don't go after this setup since the organizations involved in the deal are not franchises of the same conglomerate.
