Rangers send OLT to AAA after he went 6-31 with 2 HR, 12 Ks in spring (.744 OPS). Profar is also struggling at 8-36 with 10 Ks (.654 OPS)

I want to kick whoever runs the mlb site in the nuts. I can't even read their shitty gameday scoreboards because the text is too small and you can't scale it up.

If Ruben was a good GM, we could get Stanton.

so the best thing for lohse now would be for the rangers to say they'd be willing to give him like 3/39, then have the cards re-sign him, then trade him to texas for a decent tier 3 prospect, right? this gives the cards something for playing along, it gives lohse decent money, and it allows the rangers to keep their draft pick

I vaguely recall some roadblocks to a sign-and-trade situation in MLB... Aren't there restrictions on how soon you can trade a player who was signed as a free agent?

wasn't there an exception made with this when Juan Cruz was a free agent a few years ago? it was in a different CBA obviously, but i thought the league stepped in to make things work

Edit: I thought this happened (and it was definitely discussed), but it appears the Royals just ended up signing him. Linkage

Soriano accepted arb with Barves and got traded to Rays almost immediately IIRC

Accepting arb and signing a FA contract are not the same thing for these purposes.

If you sign a FA contract, you cannot be traded until June 15 unless you give your consent.
