Yeah, it seems pretty awful to me. Compare his contract to the one that Erick Aybar signed, and think about who their top prospect is, I don't see the point of this.

Yeah, it's apples to oranges. OTOH, Rollins only earned around $60 million in the eight years prior to his current contract. The cost of good shortstops with some offensive contributions has clearly gone way up.

You know about that Dewan thing regarding guys who slug 200 points above their career average? It's supposed to mean something. But a guy just looked into it in depth over at BP and found out it is about as valid as,the Verducci effect, Secret Sauce and PAP.

In other words it's nothing.

Oh well.

I still think Dom will be good.
