So you're giving Chase the old adios?

I'd keep Utley so we'd have a bench guy with a high walk rate.

He would have to leave and then come back to count.

You guys are a regular Abbott & Costello. Or is it Sacco and Vanzetti?

I don't think my heart can take seeing Utley in another uniform.

Probably Abbot and Costello. When I was at the Field Artillery Advanced Course my buddy and I were known as Bud and Lou. We even wrote funny songs.

Yes, your nation was being protected by a bunch of out of work comedians. Not even sure how we won that damn Cold War. Good BABIP luck I suppose.

Speaking of salvos, the Phillies might lead all of baseball in disaster starts. I wonder if that would be a bad thing?

The Mariners might be pretty fun this season. They have a lot of young guys who were once big prospects. Some of them have already done pretty well like Saunders and Seager. Plus, they have former hot shot Montero and looked great until last year Ackley. Also perennial hope Justin Smoak who had a great September last year and is,having a monster spring. They also, have fast tracker Zunino as a pretty nice catching prospect who could be on the big club this season.

They have King Felix. A couple of other starters might be OK too. Then they have the big three prospects in Walker, Hultzen and Mr. Garbage Paxton. The young pitcher who has been doing the best though is Brandon Maurer who has been impressing lots of folks and could be in the starting rotation by opening day.

They have done a great job of building bullpens with guys like former doper and bartender Wilhelmsen and old favorite Ollie Perez and guys like that.

There's a good chance none of the hot shot prospect/young vets actually turn out to be good of course. But I'm going to be optimistic because it's more fun that way.

Today they blasted Homer Bailey en route to a 16-0 win.

SODO Mojo could make a return as soon as this year.

Didn't realize McCann was having so much trouble, including still not being able to throw to second base. On top of Laird having a calf strain. I know the young guy is hitting, but that's an under the radar disaster brewing.

McCann had shoulder labrum surgery. That can't be good for a catcher.

Pitcher J.A. Happ and the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a $9.1 million, two-year contract that adds an additional $5.4 million and one season to the deal he reached in January.

Happ's salary remains $3.7 million for this year, and the new deal adds a $5.
