I can see Young as a platoon at 3rd. I'm guessing Texass would pay most of salary. I think it would be a good move. Was he hurt last year?

If you want to get crazy with the Cheez Whiz, Chris Johnson has a reverse platoon split. Career .800 plus against RHP's. Reports are that Arizona is looking to upgrade at 3B. There's a viable platoon situation.

Berkman looked pretty old too a couple years ago when he was with Yanks.

Young had a terrible year in 2012. If he can produce closer to his career numbers it would still be a huge upgrade. Whats odd about Young is how inconsistent his numbers are from year to year.

young for one year would be fine.

they think asche is gonna be ready in 2014.

thats why they dont want to spend more than a year or two on youk..preferably one.

agree.....doesnt have to be young.

they may do nothing at 3b if they add two quality OF.

either way..if they do add a 3b ....by trade or FA...its gonna be 1 year preferred..2 years tops while they wait for asche

? How would keeping Victorino have changed anything? He would still be a FA and they can still sign him. Getting rid of Pence and Victorino got them below the lux tax last year which makes it easier to go over the lux tax this year.

we have two guys to sign instead of one and I think it's easier to sign a guy on your team than one that's not on your team. That doesn't completely apply to Vic since he just left here, but it does somewhat since both his mind and body were halfway out the door.

When you trade guys, you have to aware of the coming market. It was a down year for OFers, I think.

But mostly I just don't like Amaro. I just don't like the guys he's brought in for the most part.
