Would be a nice Nyx replacement if he'd take that role. And I don't see anyone likely to guarantee him a bigger role (except maybe Tampa would give him a DH spot)

You'd figure AL would make more sense but he's been an NL guy his whole career and apparently didn't like DHing on the Yanks

Fat face has never hindered good batsmen. Jimmy Foxx; Babe Ruth; David Ortiz, etc.

Fat hands are a big problem however, according to the Scouty types. A fat face can be plus, plus and you can still barrel up the ball but normally means fringe average foot speed. Fat hands lead to a stiff swing relying on muscling the ball rather than an explosive, bat speed driven approach.

It's a minor league deal. It's ideal to have a full roster of AAA players available to play for your AAA affiliate
