It's true by 1 day.

Tsuyoshi Shinjo made his MLB debut 1 day later than Ichiro.

The first Japanese pitcher in MLB was Masanori Murakami. He was 20 years old in 1964 When he debuted with the big club after dominating A ball most of the season. He spent all of 1965 with the big club where he was a successful reliefer. His best pitch was a screwball. I remember he had an odd delivery.

I think Ichiro should be in Tha Hall of Fame. To me, the Hall isn't strictly for the best Sabermetric players only. Ichiro was the first and most successful Japanese position player. He was a really good player in Japan for many year too and that should count a little. He was hugely famous and popular and historic. That should count too.

Plus, he had a LOT of hits.

Dunno, but he's almost certainly better than Gose right now.

Toronto has a pretty packed OF situation. I wonder if they'd give up one of Gose/Snider/Rasmus. I guess it's more likely they try to move Lind and, lord knows, we don't have much that they'd want, but that'd be a nice way to solve our OF dilemma for next year.

I'd have him in the HOF, but I don't think he deserves to be first ballot.

Random questions for everyone... does Greg Maddux go into the HOF unanimous? Does anyone think it's possible to vote against him? If someone does, how angry will you be?

I guess it would depend on who it is/if we found out who it was that didn't vote for him. Nobody has ever made it unanimously. What would it take? I would have to think it would be Greg Maddux if it's going to be anyone. And if he doesn't, who even has a chance at it next? Jeter, I suppose, but that's a long ways off, and Rivera, but that's a long ways off too.

Some jerkoff won't vote for him because Babe Ruth and Willie Mays didn't get in unanimously but I don't care either so there's that.

My friend said yesterday he thinks Dunn might make the HOF. Man, that could turn into a tough debate. If he hits 500 is he in? I never saw him as a HOF player. Hall of Very Good IMHO
