Tom Wilhelmsen, Mariner pitcher, is a pretty interesting story. Drafted out of high school, he was suspended from baseball in 2004 for getting chorched all the time. He got a tryout with the M's in six years later and impressed with his big heater. Now a big leaguer. Pretty kewl. This is the only photo I could find of him. Might be a little old:
