Is there a Random Baseball Thoughts Thread?

With all the clever thread titles, it's sometimes difficult to know what is what.

Anyway, the locked thread ended with the Ron Santo is a Hall of Famer post. In typical H of F fashion they waited til the poor guy was dead before electing him despite him being deserving for decades.

Great player. Great announcer guy.

Never really figured out what that was. I think it's a random thoughts about random things including racist logos thread but I'm not sure.

That's why I'm axing,

+ 1 for the captain

Ever since Derek Jeter broke up with Minka Kelly this summer, he's apparently had a rather active love life. According to "Page Six", he's "bedding a bevy of beauties in his Trump World Tower bachelor pad," whom he sneaks in through the back door. But lest you think Jeter's being ungentlemanly, he gives each of the women with whom he spends a special evening a special gift in the morning. He doesn't, like, personally hand it to them or anything.
Instead he has a gift basket prepared for the car service he sends them home in. It usually contains autographed Jeter memorabilia, often a baseball — just a little souvenir by which they can remember the Derek Jeter Experience.

Could a decent alternative to Rollins to split time with Galvis. Would the Yankees want Martinez, Valdez or Bowker for him?

One of my faves, Jeff Keppinger, was non-tendered by the Giants.

I don't know if the Phillies have roster space but both Keppinger and Ryan Spilborghs, who also was non-tendered, would look good on their bench. Although the Phillies have so many potential bench guys now, I have kind of lost track of them all. If they hadn't gotten Wigginton, I'd say bring in Keppinger to play 2nd and move Utley to first while Howard is out. Then, hopefully by the time Howard is back, the Phillies could have moved Polanco, and Keppinger could take that role.

Yeah, I'm sure you know of guys with .900 OPS's or better who the Phillies could sign to low-money, one-year deals to improve the team's depth.

In the real world, Keppinger and Spilborghs could help the Phillies - if they'd sign short-term deals for reasonable money.

de quois? Kepp and Spilborghs would be fighting against Wigginton to avoid a AAA assignment. They're awful.
