Reporters/journalists are just trying to gin up some excitement because they're bored (or boring). Covering the Phils must be like being a weatherman in San Diego.

Moyer just did an ESPN fact or fiction segment, one of the questions was "Are the Phillies still NL favorites if Hamels and Polanco are not available in the playoffs?" Jamie said fiction (i.e. no they aren't favorites) with no discussion of how ridiculous the Hamels assumption is.

Moyer may have meant that as a compliment to Hamels, but it's silly. The only team you could even argue for is Atlanta, whose rotation isn't exactly a portrait of health

Schwimmer to wear #39 and Blanton moved to the 60-day DL.

Atlanta rotation doesn't have to be healthy -- it's 9 deep plus they have innings eater Lowe.

lol. omg. :spam: :spam2: :spam:
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Yeah me too. It's worth a whole article to explain that the team with the best record is not guaranteed to win the WS. We know that. It just happened last year. TO US. I bet the team with the best record wins the WS more often than the team who has the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. best record. I'm just guessing. Maybe I could look that up.

Is no one even slightly concerned about Milwaukee? Personally, I'm glad Atlanta and Milwaukee are probably going to have to slug it out for the right to lose to the Phil's, but I'm not discounting the Brew.

Every playoff team is a concern. Moyer was talking about "the favorite"
