Among changes, as we reported two weeks ago, is that WIP may soon take over the FM signal of rock station 94 WYSP.

Growing up WYSP kicked the living shit out of WMMR by being the edgy modern rock station and then...they decided that wasn't for them

Didn't they switch to talk radio a few years ago and it only lasted a few months?

Z100 in NYC did that in the early 90's. They began playing artists like Soul Asylum, Lemonheads, Toadies, etc., and did pretty well. It didn't last long however.

that was the only station that came in well when my Dad lived out in Perkasie. loved it.

Yeah the Underground Network programming was great. Although it was watered-down DRE, Y100 was solid for a few years there.

I don't really remember the difference between 'MMR and 'YSP, other than the latter being maybe a little heavier.

do they still do mandatory metallica?
