still hard for me to believe that the process of: view the sign from the catcher via binoculars --> relay the message to the white shirted man --> white shirted man puts arms above head or does nothing --> hitter is able to glance at white shirted man and then bring his focus back to the pitcher can take place in the amount of time it takes the pitcher to get the sign and deliver the pitch.

Yea, it seems silly, but if the guy in white was using a bluetooth, that speeds things up. He was positioned dead center field, right above the pitcher from the batters viewpoint. It makes it seem like the Jays put their tallest pitcher out there in practice and pinpointed the exact seat location where it works. In that case, the hitter would have to shift his eyes every so slightly, and really, he's only looking for one thing, a guy lifting his arms up. He could keep the pitcher and the guy in center in his peripheral at the same time.
I'd imagine it's tough to do with a pitcher that works fast, or if the Jays actually had fans in the seats, but it's definitely possible to steal signs this way.

I don't know, I kind of want to believe because it's so sheisty. Regardless, Bautista's power is legit.

On the other hand, Billmeyer and the binoculars thing is definitely impossible.

The thing with the jays as evidenced in that article is the extreme difference between their homeruns and the opponents at home and they play in the AL East so it's not like they're facing soft-hitting scrubs. With the system noted I suppose it could be the best way of stealing signs from there, if they have someone quick enough to relay the info to Mr. Man in White, the bluetooth would make things so much easier too.

The thing I found interesting was the "sources" were insistent that this was going on...the Billmeyer thing, as Napalm said, is complete bullshit.

I found this to be interesting. The numbers are certainly something to ponder.

The fact that Billmeyer never said 1 word about that incident leads me to believe something was definitely going on there.

Billmeyer doesn't really have any reason to say anything about it if it's b.s.

And another thing, why would the guy in white just up and leave after some bullpen pitchers call him out? If I was innocently sitting at a game and someone started yelling to me, "we know what you're doing!" or whatever, I would definitely be confused. I wouldn't panic and bounce.

If I were an AL east team, i'd buy a group of tickets for your fans and litter them in centerfield. Give 'em promo white-shirts to boot.

What happened to the team with the best record getting to choose a different set of dates? It looks like both NLDS series are played on the same dates. Same with the ALDS.
