And the Phillies have a 3-2 record against winning teams.

Why do we need to take this into account? Sure we're going to play better teams but that doesn't mean we're not going to beat them too. For all our victories this team was hardly firing on all cylinders, with the injuries we've suffered and the sporadic offense, the only constant has been that our pitching>everyone else.

Because there's virtually no chance this team doesn't win 90+ games and make the playoffs. 3rd order wins and SOS and whatever nonsense you want to jerk off about is irrelevant to what's going to happen in the NLDS. Face it, we're the Yankees of the NL and no one will care if they win 92 or 95 or 102 or 111 if they don't make it to the WS.

It doesn't mean we're not going to beat the better teams, but it's easier to be the Nationals than the Braves. It doesn't mean our record is invalid or something, just means it's gonna be tricky to maintain the gaudy .700 winning percentage over the next few weeks.

I think a lot of this thread is tongue in cheek belaboring the obvious, not punishing the Phils. Also, it serves to remind us that if the Phils lose one against the Braves or something it's not the end of the world.
