Mike Martinez singled and stole 2B. His second hit of the day. Castillo stood up there taking pitches. He does that good. But alas, he gounded out as did Raul.
3-0 in the bottom of the 6th.
Herndon pitched two innings and gave up his normal two hits and a run in 2 IP. He's working on his slider as he threw it a lot. It's truly hit and miss.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can
Mathieson threw a 56 pitch scoreless inning. He walked three guys but got two weak flyouts. Then Schoppach hit a bullet on a 3-2 pitch that Martinez snagged.
Scotty was pitching kinda backwards. He threw some kind of off speed pitch. Maybe a slider that he took something off of. When he threw his heater, the hitters weren't catching up to it. But he had little command of his control and was lucky to get out of the inning. (He actually threw a tad over 30 pitches).
Phillies utility infielders continue to shine as Pete Orr hits his 15th triple of the spring.
Rest of the team can't hit at all. 3-0 heading to the bottom of the 7th.
