especially since it would take away one of the main justifications of that trade.
a trade this bad after so much smug would be more than i can take.
i'm not sure how long i would have to wait before i could stand to start following baseball again.

Everyone's favorite J. C. Romero in the 8th worked on being J. C. Two BABIP singles followed by a GIDP followed by a ground ball out.

Now Baez in to close it out gives up three straight singles.

5-3 now.

Baez surrenders 4 hits and two runs and then gets the GIDP to end it. He's got that closer mentality.

Phils win 5-4.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Wasn't Lidge supposed to pitch today? Maybe they're counting on Baez getting ti to extras.

Wait, what I am missing? Why is this being discussed here? Is it a rumor or something?

hopefully just a humorously exaggerated rumor.

Did he pitch in a B game or a minor league game maybe? I think I saw that somewhere.

Young career as a hitter away from Arlington:

.326 OBP/416 SLG/ 91 RC+

Now you can't just say that's strictly his ability because most people hit slightly better at home regardless of the park, but his big difference in home and road splits for his career is almost entirely BABIP driven--.361(!!) career BABIP at home, 316 away. I am pretty certain the league-wide BABIP split for home hitters over their road numbers is .005

ISO is .030 higher for his career at home, perfectly explainable by the park

He's also just terrible at 3B. Really really bad

I'm fully prepared to be livd about any trade for him. Please no. Just sign Aybar. Trade for Callaspo. Don't give up Blanton and maybe even prospects for this guy and take on his extra years at huge money. And Oswalt, jesus. I think we could diagnose RAJ as bipolar if that happened

True. How about some sort of an extreme alcoholism that causes him to lose huge chunks of consciousness and make life alteringly terrible decisions

Pretty sure this is pretty close to true, trade or not though

Can admin give the next person to spout a Oswalt for Young rumour a short stint away from the board? The actual thought that a Phillies fan would actively want to spread this rumour makes me seethe with anger. Seriously we have an historically good rotation right now and someone wants to spread rumours about breaking that up for Michael friggin' Young!?

It was discussed on KTCK Dallas this morning but I didn't catch the initial context, probably just talk show noise. Haven't seen anything from the Ranger writers since ST games started.

I didn't see anyone post this yet...

Tastykakes will be available at CBP this year! PB Kandy Kakes, Butterscotch Krimpets, Chocolate Cupcakes, and some sugar free stuff. Can't believe it took this long but glad it's finally happened. I always felt that there needed to be more dessert type options, and considering Tastykake was a major sponsor, I can't believe it took this long.
