Doesn't really compare to the classics like Dallas or Fantasy Island, does it?

It's amazing--I remember when the Conan show started, he was the worst thing about it, and by the time he left, he was easily the best. I think he's a riot.

I'm out of the loop on this. While Dallas and Fantasy Island were popular, I don't recall anything thinking they were good. What I need to know is do people think Gray's Anatomy is good? One thing I noticed about the show that made it in my mind far worse than Dallas or Fantasy Island was how earnest it was--that is, the people seem to want you to think the show is good, and by good I think they mean serious.

I think it's pretty much universally derided by discerning viewers. The people who like it enjoy it as a late-night soap opera, and I don't think they have illusions that it's breaking ground or anything.

The dream sequence, Kenneth trying to seduce Will Arnett, and Chris Parnell describing how paternity suits were settled in the 60's all had me in stitches. I'm glad 30 Rock has been picked up for next year.

I agree, the show has taken a little while to find itself, and can still be a little hit or miss, but when it hits, it hits. I love Tracy Morgan and Alec Baldwin in it, plus the absurdity. Parnell as a doctor was great, I liked his lecture on doctor patient privledge and then tells them that means it can't go beyond the 4 people in the room.

It was hilarious, and I liked that Jim wanted to watch a Phillies game instead of going out with Karen.

andy barker pi is also pretty funny, but its unlikely that thatll get a second season.

but seriously, 30 rock is coming close to taking over the office as funniest show on tv. the office was real good last night, but i ended up laughing harder at 30 rock.

The pilot of Andy Barker wasn't very good and was pretty awkward. But the other three episodes have had me giggling out loud. I just don't think America can embrace Andy Richter as a TV star.

The Sopranos/Entourage start on Sunday. It doesn't seem like many people care about either at this point.

I'll watch Entourage, though I really don't care. I imagine the first episode will go something like this: "Shut up, Drama!" "Screw you, Turtle!" "What do you think, E?" "Whatever you want to do, Vince."

Over under on when Ari is Vince's agent again: 1.5 episodes.

I'm absolutely titilated by the return of Sopranos though. I've been re-watching the first twelve episodes of the season, and they're much better than I remember.

I thought they were quite good.

And Andy Barker PI is hilarious. I think Entourage is crap.

If anyone hasn't seen Andy Barker PI, I'd recommend the second episode with Guy Halberson, it's the episode that hooked me, love the shots of him racing Andy on the golf course with the "3 types of ham sandwitch" in his hand and the Philly soul music in the background--can't think of the name something Run with ya brother, we can run together...really funny
The show was co-created and executively produced by Conan.

Speaking of Conan, have you ever seen the pilot show that he created that never aired 10 years ago? I cant recall the title but it starred Adam West and the theme is very similar to Andy Barker.
