I didnt bother this week. The pilot was great, but subsequent episodes have been boring and stupid. Plus it frustruates me that I cannot see this Jenny chick naked.

NBC gave them a chance to find an audience. Post Heroes and post Deal or no Deal for 3 weeks, and 3 weeks of losing a significant portion of the lead-in and I'm sure this week will be 4. It's done.

There will be no third season of the BBC/HBO sitcom “Extras,” according to creator/stars Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, but the duo does intend to produce a stand-alone finale at some point.

I heard "Studio 60" is toast. Were there more episodes, and if so is there any word on whether they'll see the light of day?

David Letterman has come down with a stomach virus and won't host "The Late Show" tonight, so Adam Sandler will take his place, TMZ has learned.

Sources tell TMZ that Letterman came into the office today, but didn't feel up to hosting. It was the last scheduled taping for the week, so Dave thought it best to get the extra rest.

Sandler's guests will be his "Reign of Fire" co-star Don Cheadle, comedian Todd Barry, race car driver Danica Patrick and singer Lucinda Williams.

Dave, who has only been off the job twice -- for heart surgery and a case of the shingles -- is expected back on Monday.

I hope this 12-year-old girl Ashley in the American Idol audience is home-schooled.

Sandler had his dog as a guest and admitted that he doesn't know how to interview people, so he switched seats with Cheadle halfway through...

Has anyone here actually watched Men In Trees? I assume we are not its target audience.

id guess not. it does well with women 18-34, and 18-49. its sort of barely holding enough of the greys anatomy lead in to stay alive, but this stupid october road show had a much better retention rate.

so this early pickup kind of perplexes me, though id expect them to move the show to mondays at 10 or sometime on fridays.

"Battlestar Galactica's" fourth season, which officially launches in early 2008, has grown from 13 to 22 episodes.

SciFi will formally announce as much Thursday.

From TVWeek.com:
The order will include a special two-hour "Battlestar" event to air during the fourth quarter of 2007 on Sci Fi, and will also be released on DVD.

That sounds right. Hopefully they do 22 and sayonara. Hell, if they'd done it right, this could have been the last season--really only the first four episodes, plus last week and hopefully this week, and maybe two or three in the middle, were worthwhile anyway.

I listened to Moore's podcast for this past Sunday's episode earlier today. I now better understand why things got so screwed up with the show between the Exodus and, IMO, the finale: there was a major through-line that was supposed to pay off now, that they decided to scrap basically after filming everything. (Vox described some of this in reference to the lousy "Woman King" episode.) That plot arc would have made those episodes stronger, but the way it was described I don't think it would have closed the season well.

I think I read the DVD/TV movie was going to deal with peripheral storylines--so maybe they'll bring back this abandoned plot, which was kind of interesting but IMO not strong enough to carry Baltar's trial.
