So my cable is screwed up and none of my HD channels are working right now. I flip through every day to see if anything has changed, and I noticed that none of them worked except HBO, which I don't subscribe to, so I watched Enterouge last night... meh...

Oh, I actually find that kind of troubling then... my cable company can't deliver the other 20 HD channels that I'm supposed to get, but ole' HBO, you'd better believe they can pipe that right through.

I'm a year behind on that show, watching on the DVDs. I just watched the season 2 finale- OMGwoah!!!1!!
Adama showing his grit with the stache. Tell me does Dean Stockwell recur much in the 3rd season, and do we see much of Leoben or Simon? I'm anxiously awaiting those discs, of course.

I watched the first three episodes of Friday Night Lights last night on NBC.com. Seemed really good. Not too much melodrama and a handful of really compelling storylines - pressure on the coach, the kid from New Orleans, the backup QB - with only a few crappy ones. I almost cried like WillieC at the end of the third episode.

Hopefully when the first season comes out on DVD, a lot of people discover this show. It is the best drama on network TV.

Not much of a shock there. I like the show, but it is way too quirky to be on primetime on NBC.

Last two episodes will be run off this saturday at 8.

The show was good, but not great. Chances are NBC is only going to launch one comedy block, thursday, and already 3 of those spots are filed (office, earl, 30 rock). Their best sitcom pilot will probably get the 9pm slot, opposite Greys and CSI, and some really heavy marketing. 30 Rock will slide after it, and they'll either pick up the final season of Scrubs (if not, it goes to ABC) or another sitcom pilot for midseason/insurence.

Scrubs going to ABC won't be too bad. Assuming that The Thick of It, a new sitcom from the brilliant Mitch Hurwitz of Arrested Development, is good, that could headline their own comedy block. Pair it with Scrubs, another new sitcom and hopefully an Office-like return for The Knights of Prosperity (doubtful...), and ABC could be looking at a very solid night of comedy. Which I'm sure no one will watch, seeing as funny sitcoms don't get much viewership.

Saw the new "Entourage" on demand and loved it. Probably the show I look forward to the most now, and adding Carla Gugino doesn't hurt...

I had not been a big fan of 30 rock until I caught the last episode (Fireworks) on itunes. Alec Baldwin was suberb and Tracy Morgan's character is starting to take off -- I loved Thomas Jefferson giving the double finger to the Maury Povich crowd.

Life on Mars

1. Series 2 will have 'closure'
2. Spinoff in 80s planned (bad idea)

friday night lights gets a 6 script order. meaning, nbc wants to see the direction they are going in before they offically pick up those 6 episodes. im guessing itll be a 6 episode order with 7 additional scripts (so they can easily pull the trigger on the front 13 if need be).

obviously the show will be on a very short leash, most likely 3 weeks tops to hold whatever lead in audience they get since the show is bound to be moved to 1000, probably sticking on wednesday (simply cant be at 900 show since its already premiered and already been ignored, its best chance to be at 1000 after a big 900 new drama and keep that lead in).

all in all, a second season...or at least 6 more episodes...are in the works for the best new show of the season. some emmy nominations to boost the shows awarness wouldnt hurt.

Aside from Heroes does NBC have any 9 pm strength left?

Anyone see episode 2 of Doctor Who in series 3? Great great stuff, as they went back in time to 1599 to discover where the lost Shakespeare script went.

No.

But again, the 9pm hours are kind of open on tuesday and wednesday. CBS is slowly eroding, but they do have their audience that watches them over anything else, so you cannot focus on them.

Tuesday ABC will have some kind of DWTS, Fox has House but it's beatable with an Idol lead in and will be pre-empted for baseball here and there, a definate chance of other networks to sneak in.

Wednesday is more wide open at 9. Fox has nothing, ABC has nothing. It's there for the taking in the fall. NBC was the only network to let the press into their pre-upfront look where they screened some pilots, and the reaction was pretty good.

It's a slow process for them to get back into it, but they have some quality shows to lay the foundation and it appears that viewers are beginning to tire of current hits like Lost, Desperate Housewives, CSI, etc.
