It was sarcasm, I could just tell, especially knowing how stone and parker treat the media.

They couldn't tell. Here's an article from Reason magazine from 12/2006 where they're discussing it pretty seriously. Google the phrase, I think you'll be surprised.

Yep, I really like Dr. Who on the show. I think last night's might have been my favorite episode so far.

Reason: A few years ago, Matt, you said, “I hate conservatives, but I really {expletive deleted} hate liberals.” Who do you hate more these days?

Stone: That’s a tough question. Obviously, South Park has a lot of politics in it, but ultimately we want to make a funny show and a good show. We try not to be, “All right, here’s the point we want to make.” But things like California’s smoking ban and Rob Reiner animate both of us. When we did that Rob Reiner episode [2003’s “Butt Out”], to us it was just common sense. Rob Reiner was just a great target.

That’s when a lot of people started calling us conservative: “How could you possibly rip on Rob Reiner? You must be conservative.”

THey even make the point themselves that they get branded because they make fun of ceratin celebrities. But they make fun of the whole spectrum of political discourse. Its the nature of a libertarian to want less intrusion from the government and oppose anyone who wants the government to babysit or restrict.

Me, although I'm starting to get annoyed at the writing/dialogue being soooo literal; allusion is a good thing.

I think what they really hate is self-righteousness. Plenty of that on both sides; as a liberal, I'd argue that there's probably more overall on the left, but (maybe this is obvious) it reaches its most intense and extreme forms on the right with the Dobson crowd.

Also, they aren't fond of Scientology...

I thought it was dull as dishwater, as many of you predicted. I'm really getting to that point where I'm watching the show out of habit. I probably won't be able to bail on it, but I'd be getting close if it were another show.

I didn't see last night's yet.

SuperBowl = No BSG Sunday night.

I kinda like the literal-ness. It's like the anti-Lost. (And I like Lost..they strike a nice balance on my palate.)

Yeah, I've noticed how different the two are. I'm definitely the type of person that enjoys the mystery and uncertainty of important plot points, and thus like Lost more. I feel there's a greater satisfaction by prolonging the answers, but to each his own. Heroes' pace is just too fast for me, but I still enjoy it.

I still don't like the 'tightness' of Heroes...why not make clares father someone else, someone not involved...and with a guy with so many skeletons in his closet, how does someone (his opponent) not find them all and out the sleazy politician?

Eccleston is good, but from a geek point of view, I always viewed the 'regeneration' power as a passive power, it doesn't need to be activated, it just is, so if the "Rogue" character is a permanent leech than he wouldn't have to activate it at all, it just is.

And if they kill off Greg Grunberg, I'm going to be irritated...btw, the preview 'crossing the line between good and evil', last i checked, ali larters characters 'evil twin' was pretty damn evil already.

They just established that sponge-guy has the ability to retain the healing power, so how does he get a scar in the future?

My guess would be that over time his retention of said powers decreases...what's more intersting to me right now is where did Hiros powers go, and why?

Vox, Sam and Gene are back next week. Quietly confident:

BBC's website is looking pretty cool:

The wife is so psyched that she's not fussed about valentine's day - apparently she's planning a slap-up meal for the 13th of Feb.

Sadly, no spaghetti hoops.

That's a relief. I guess it also means they'll make the movie bridging seasons 3 and 4.

Last night's episode was odd. The main storyline didn't do all that much for me, I think mostly because it had some sloppy narrative construction, but some of the other stuff--the Tigh/Helo conflict, Caprica's "internal Baltar" and Roslin and Tori (mmm... Tori) watching her through the two-way glass--was pretty cool.

Will they be changing the title to "Battlebore Talkatyatica"?

That is a limited run, isn't it? They did in the 20's for seasons two and three, right?

What the heck did they split the screen with during Heroes? No text except "Live" and video of a far away shot of some police cars.

I was truely annoyed by that as well. Save the local news for 11:00. That's almost as bad as when Jim Gardner interrupted one of my favorite shows once to tell me that the Eagles had just lost.
