Has anyone seen the new Kleenex commercial where this guy asks people to sit on a couch in the middle of the street, and they start opening up and crying?

Very weird.

I miss(?) all of these commercial shenanigans with TiVo.

My friend is always making me "go back" to see some crap or another. I swear he prefers to watch commercials to TV.

I missed it, but I assume you agree with me that Earl is usually not funny at all.

I did see scrubs, and it made me laugh 3 times. That isn't a negative, I haven't really laughed at it yet this year. "Don't be silly, I've been with a bunch of big girls."
Check The Good Phight, you might learn something.

Even though all 4 shows didn't have episodes that were praticually on top of their comedic games tonight, save for 30 Rock, it's just good to have a 2 hour block of comedy thats funny. It probably won't last into next season, but it's enjoyable while it's there.

The Vice President on 24 this season? None other than the legendary Powers Boothe.

Is that Patrick Stewart doing a voice on the weaker watered down Family Guy?

New season of MTV's "Two-a-Days" starting on 1/30. This year's team lost once in the regular season, but this time, they lost the championship game by 2 TDs and there's rumors that the head coach could leave for the UAB head coaching job or a coordinator job at Auburn or Alabama. One of the top center prospects in the country is on this team....Ryan Pugh, who committed to Auburn. For those that didn't see the first season, the team's QB is the younger brother of Alabama starting QB John Parker Wilson.....

Both "The Sopranos" (A&E) and "The Wire" (BET) begin runs on basic cable Wednesday night... at the same time, no less.

I've actually seen about half of the first season of The Sopranos, as well as probably five or six other episodes scattered throughout the show's run, so I'll probably try The Wire tomorrow night. All those Bill Simmons plugs, plus the rave of a colleague who claims it's the closest TV has ever gotten to making a drama "about" public policy, won me over.

I admire Sopranos and have enjoyed most of the ones I've seen, but it never got to the point of my all-time favorite shows. So I'm eager to see if The Wire hits me that way.

Speaking of all-time favorite shows, I saw recently that the first season of St. Elsewhere is now out on DVD. I haven't seen it in about 15 years (for awhile after it went off, they were syndicated in Philly), and I'm kind of afraid to watch it again and find that it's not as mind-blowing as I remember, but that remains the standard for me as far as TV dramas.

That's a pretty interesting, and impressive, syndication move.

I remember reading a while back that HBO employed more and did more for black actors between The Wire and Oz than NBC had in 20 years (except the Cos, of course).
