"WHAT HAPPENED NOW?!?!"

2 months later this still gets me. Please show me that when I'm dying in a hospital somewhere to get one final laugh.

I want to quote it too.

Look at the massive fellow behind him that is demonstratively yelling "#$&! YOU" at apparently no one.

One of the best gifs of all time. How one short clip could encapsulate something so well, I don't know.

I'm telling you, by the time of the Lee-to-Phils presser, the Yanks will have offered this "mediocre" starter 3/$24.

And Yankees fans will be whining that the big market Phillies outbid them and that something needs to be done about this outrageous spending in baseball.

Not like CLIFF LEE and KRIS LEE are poor here.

Crasnick says Phils bumped offer to $120 million.

I love how people keep throwing around the Phillies "aging" lineup.

What about Jeter, Rivera, Posada, A-Rod and Pettite?

Hell, Texiera and SAbathia are over 30 too...

The funny thing that Yankees fans don't/can't/are incapable of grasping about this is that it was about winning

Why go to their REALLY old (not perception of the Phillies old) team and try to grapple with a still likely superior team in Boston (with the intermediate term outlook looking far better for Boston than NYY as well) for the next 5-6 years, when you can come and join this monstrosity

But they all think he's scared/his wife did it

Best tweet so far by Jim Rome:
Whenever someone says "It's not about the money.",it's about one thing: the money. Unless Cliff Lee said it. Never spit on Clifton's wife.
Together we will win this game against the evil Space Yankees! Eat Fresh!

But the 120 counts the 6th year? I guess not

jcrasnick

Phillies bumped up their offer at the end to $120MM guaranteed, plus the vesting option.

If I ever see KRIS LEE in the stands, I will buy her an ice cream in a mini-helmet, and then spit on a Yankee fan

Is it funny that the deal broke exactly at midnight, almost like Rube was waiting for the clock to turn so it would be exactly one year since the Roy deal?

Can we just ignore Crasnick? He's changing the numbers on both the Phils and Yanks deals to make the Yanks look better.

He's a Philly guy though, no? He has good Phillies connections.
