In the internet/wikipedia age you shouldn't need to ask this.

I'm sorry, I ignored joe table's second sentence because it failed at being a sentence.

Awesomely kewl.

Made me think if the Phanatic had to torch the Mets, as they have the propensity to spontaneously combust all on their own. So in my mind, I picture the Phanatic approaching the bonfire pile, the Mets had already started burning all on their own so the Phanatic just torches the rest of 'em.

Ryan Howard hit his 28th home run of the season off of Andrew Miller in the fourth inning of the Philadelphia Phillies' 10-6 win over the Florida Marlins. The blast was the 250th of Howard's career and came in his 855th career game. According to our friends at the Elias Sports Bureau, this makes Howard the fastest player in terms of games played to reach 250 career home runs in MLB history. The previous fastest was Ralph Kiner (871 games).

First nugget from the Phils' 2011 schedule:

TUE 6/28 - THU 6/30 = Boston comes to town again

Looks like we're facing the AL West next year for the other interleague games...

That's an interesting question. Same goes for the Red Sox. I wonder how much difference it makes to TV viewership?

EDIT: this made more sense before you edited your post.

Who actually decides that?
they were a chick hanging out with her friends at a bar, the Phillies would be the 320 lb chick with a nose wart and a dick - Trent Steele

Yeah I don't get it at all. Any AL team would sell out here, and the Sox could help a market like Pittsburgh much more than, say, the Royals could. And it's certainly not fair to the Phillies or Red Sox in terms of how good they've been in recent years

I wonder if the A's will come here. I think they've only been to Philly once since Interleague started.

Head: under, probably in the high 300s/low 400s
Heart: OVER, BABY!!!!!!!

If he doesn't hit another this year, and then averages 35 a season after this year, he'll need 7 more seasons, plus a hanging-on season where he gets the last 5.

Given his age and the general decline in his recognition of the strike zone, this doesn't seem likely.

On the other hand, he probably misses 40 again this year only because he missed three weeks, so that shows he still has the pop. Assuming he hits five more this season, he won't need that hang-on season either: just average 35 a year for 7 years more and he'll have it.

Tall order.

I do kind of wish the Phillies and A's would insist on each other as their main interleague rivals, rather than the Red Sox for the Phillies and the Giants for the Athletics, but the latter situation makes even that a pipe dream.

I think it is sad the A's have only been here once since all this interleague shit started. That is the one team I'd genuinely be interested in seeing every year, both for Philly-related reasons and because of their cleverness in putting their teams together.
