You did waste some of your life, I'm afraid. Go to any pitcher's page on baseball-reference and next to Standard Pitching, click on "more stats"

Under Pitch Summary -- Pitching, you'll find 1st%

Both of you are wasting your life, if we're being honest
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Noted, it's still interesting enough that Kendrick not only seems to be defying statistics with his starts, he's doing the exact opposite of what statistics dictate. When he's been throwing 1st pitch strikes, he's struggled, when he hasn't he's done well. Small sample size, I'm sure, but interesting nonetheless. And if I had just taken them without looking into each game, I wouldn't have seen that.

/trying to justify wasting a half hour.

It basically means his stuff is so hittable that when he throws strikes the batters score many, many runs. But when he's wild, the batters remember how many runs other teams have scored and swing like madmen. eventually though they will stop and he'll just suck no matter what.

My favorite Kendrick moment of the year came in his start against Arizona. He struck out Reynolds on a high pitch.

On the radio, LA remarked that it was a slider that didn't slide. He said the pitch was so bad it completely fooled Reynolds.

He had one of those to Pujols last night that he popped up.

I liked how Dubee was basically chewing him out after multiple innings too(mostly for pitch selection to Molina, hitting before the pitcher) while he had a shutout going.

He wasn't throwing many absolute c0ckshots last night though. A lot of effective nibbling

I know the pitch to Pujols you're talking about. Cant' believe he didn't hit that one to Kensington. KK threw a few others the Cards just flat missed. Plus there were the usual lasers right at fielders.

One thing that worked out pretty well for Kendrick was the Cards have quite a few guys in their lineup that just aren't very good hitters.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

I think I may start referencing the Cardinals as "Albert Pujols and the Average White Man Superband"

Being he didn't follow Moyer, couldn't be moss still on the ball. So I dunno.

I guess the Dodgers had a low draw this past week, because we're tops in average attendance for the moment.

This past time through the rotation, our bullpen only had to record 25 outs, including 3 in extras. Damn impressive since we were at home, so no skipping the ninth inning. Averaged over seven and a half innings per start.
