The OLD Halladay/Smug thread is HERE

If it's Taylor or Brown, plus Lee (to a 3rd team with more prospects to TOR) with Halladay and a middle reliever back, plus huge extension people are good with it?

I still haven't given up hope that's the way it goes down.

I doubt the $ is the sticking point in this, it's the mix of prospects. Wasn't going to happen unless Drabek was included or a suitable replacement, ala Morrow. Amaro is not giving up Drabek. Can't get Morrow without Lee.

Not best scenario, but I'm OK with it if there wasn't any other way to get it done, especially if it means we keep both Blanton and Happ.

If Lee is going, I want no part of Taylor or Brown in that deal. I would think one of the purposes of trading Lee is to avoid trading Taylor and Brown.

But one year of Lee in this situation could be equivalent to Drabek + Brown, who stand a good chance of being quality major-leaguers while saving the payroll from ~2011-2013.

I'm all about winning next year, as I wrote a few pages back, but I understand and am glad that Smuggles feels otherwise.

Heard Halladay willing to take extension at less than CC/Santana to be on winner/be near Fla home, and #Phillies train nearby in Clearwater

I think Lee would help them get another pitching prospect that TOR likes so we can keep Drabek

but will you take No. 1 instead of the status quo?
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

That's what I'm hoping. If RAJ gets some $$ back from TOR and gets Halladay to defer some 2010 $$, maybe we get our best-case scenario.

I'd rather take a stab at signing Halladay as a FA than lose Lee now.
