The OLD Halladay/Smug thread is HERE

So we get Halladay, money for Halladay, and a relief pitcher. What, no blowjobs or strombolis?
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

not if Lee gets traded

If Lee walks next year and the Phillies weren't able to sign Halladay, there is no ace. Amaro is ensuring that the Phillies have a staff ace for years to come, while keeping the top tier prospects.

If it's just Lee going out, the deal that brought the Phillies Halladay (and a 2009 NL Pennant) was Carrasco, Marson, Donald, Knapp.

I think Rube gets a week-long, all-expense paid trip to one of those ranches near Vegas.

I get that the Lee deal would make sense, certainly for the future. But I can't help it: I want the Lee-Halladay FU to the rest of the sport in 2010 and worry about the rest of the stuff later.

He doesn't have to. He was exactly the same pitcher as in 2008. I know because I read that online.

So does everyone, including, I have to think, Amaro. But you will take what He gives you!

Somewhat relating to previous discussion, 5-85 for Lackey to Boston, so slight upgrade on Burnett deal

I'm shocked that the Yankees didn't up their offer to Toronto to "match" what Boston did

why not trade Blanton for whatever, clear up almost the same monsy, give up a few prospects for Halladay and sign him and have Lee for this year, get two picks in 2011?

I still haven't given up hope that's the way it goes down.

I'll gladly take the chance that they'd be forfeiting a few years for the utter and complete awesomeness that would be Lee-Halladay-Hamels-who cares-doesn't matter.
