Doesn't surprise me at all. Notice how quiet it's gotten about Halladay the last few days? I think the Phils and Jays have agreed on a deal in principle, subject to contract extension talks and the physical, and the other teams know it, so nobody has been doing any more talking with the Jays for now.

BTW, I hope lethal's suggestion is correct and the way RAJ is going to address the 2010 payroll issue is to get Halladay to defer part of his salary. If we can keep Blanton, too, that would be awesome.

If Lee's in the deal, I'll be crushed.

Look, I want the Phillies to be good for as long as they can. But I'd rather they take a shot at being legendary this year and worry about the future at a later date.

No Lee as part of a Halladay deal.

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halladay and his agent have checked into a Philadelphia-area hotel, according to two Inquirer sources.
It is not known if a trade sending Halladay to the Phillies is imminent, but if Halladay and the Phils are negotiating--as is indicated by the pitcher's presence in Philadelphia--that would suggest that the Phils and Blue Jays are far enough along in talks for Halladay to discuss a potential contract extension with the Phils. Halladay has one year remaining on his contract before becoming a free agent.

The Phils have long been linked to Halladay, and were actively involved in trade talks last July, before the team acquired lefthander Cliff Lee from Cleveland
