That long arm motion reminds me of Jered Weaver.

Looking at his pitch f(x) data.....47 four seamers so far, avg velocity of 95, topped out at 97.9. 10 inches of avg, vertical break.

Done after 4 because of the pitch count. Struggled with putting some guys away with 2 strikes, but he did have 4K's. 75 pitches, 51 strikes.

Unless you are so hung up on his mechanics, I don't see how you could not like him. If he's healthy, he's going to be very good.

He smiled: “I watched George Brett play. He was my hero. I don’t know if anyone watches me but if there’s one kid out there who has me for a favorite player … I want that kid to be proud of me. I want that kid to be able to say, ‘THAT is how you are supposed play baseball.’”

The A's are the most - should've been organization of all time...

Connie Mack sold off HOF rosters -- twice, and then Charlie Finley and then more recent times... Giambi, Tejada all those pitchers ... the A's should have been the Yankees, and should have been in Phila.!

We're seven games up in the loss column and the three starters still in our rotation from the start of the year have ERAs of 4.44, 4.72, 5.58.

Despite all that, they still have 9 WS titles, which I believe is third best. Mack had reasonable excuses for why he sold off his stars though. The Federal League had started and was raiding talent, and the second time was during the Great Depression.

What?

Am I missing something, or is it ... odd ... that Matt Wieters apparently has the fifth-most trade value in baseball? He's ahead of Joe Mauer and Brian McCann.
