I could have sworn he had at least one (relatively) big game offensively, but a review of the game logs shows up nothing. I guess I was just recalling the general excitement ANY time he got a hit.

My dad always brings up Rick Wise as a hitter though unless he has a really really good memory his dad must have fed him them stories. He would have been 7 the year he hit 6 Homers so I guess he would remember that.

He hit 15 homers in 668 AB's. Pretty sharp for a pitcher.

Carlton was no slouch either, neither were LC and Randy Lerch.

That was him. One of the few high points of that year, but it was pretty neat.

I remember listening to that game as a little kid when I was supposed to be asleep. I got yelled at for jumping up and down when it was over. Box score.

Mets rotation is utter dogshit at this point. Perez is out of shape, they are trying to remodel Maine's delivery, and Livan Hernandez is their #5.

They'd probably make fun of headcase Myers at #2, ancient Moyer at #3, fat Blanton at #4 and Chan Ho Park being our #5.
