I'm a pretty happy camper. But it sure would have been fun to be the one to break the Cubbies' hearts.

TBS announcers during the Angels/Red Sox game just announced their preference for a Dodgers Red Sox World Series.

Anyone else shocked?

I think they'll need to take pitches the other way. If they try to pull everything, the Dodgers' starters will pound the outside corner and get groundballs all day long. That's their game. If our guys are patient and are willing to beat the Dodgers with singles and doubles, I think the Phils win because Hamels and company will be good enough.

Phillies/Dodgers reunions are happening for some coaches and players in this series:

Dodgers third base coach Larry Bowa, Phillies SS 1970-81, Mgr. 2001-04
Dodgers first base coach, Mariano Duncan, Phillies 2B 1992-95
Dodgers bullpen coach Ken Howell, Phillies P 1989-90
Phillies first base coach Davey Lopes, Dodgers 2B 1972-81
Phillies hitting coach Milt Thompson, Phillies OF 1986-88, 93-94, Dodgers 96

Oh and of course
Jayson Werth, Phillies OF, Dodgers OF 2004-05
Shane Victorino, Phillies OF, Rule V draftee of the Phillies from the Dodgers in 2004

That no one in the national media has any regard for the Phillies or Philadelphia, except for the "their fans boo Santa Claus" stories?

For Victorino, more than the NLCS is at stake, his honor is on the line here. He will, I think, crush the ball.

Werth may have a chip on his shoulder, but at least he wasn't offered back to his old team for $15K only to have them say "No thanks."
they were a chick hanging out with her friends at a bar, the Phillies would be the 320 lb chick with a nose wart and a dick - Trent Steele

ESPN's SportsNation poll:

Which team will win the NLCS?*
58% = PHILLIES

Which team has the better starting rotation?
56% = PHILLIES

Which team has the better bullpen?
63% = PHILLIES

Which team has the better top of the lineup?
68% = PHILLIES

Should the Phillies pitch to Manny Ramirez if first base is open?
51% = yes

* = The map is pretty much split from the Ohio/PA border down, with Arkansas, Michigan, Colorado and Alaska also picking the Philies, Vermont picking the Dodgers, and New York is undecided (or hates both teams equally).

Man, this forum rules:

http://www.dodgerblues.com/# (click on fan forum on the side navigation bar; I don't think you can direct link).

It's for like the most negative people in the world. The Dodgers fan forum is called "Brewers 16, Dodgers 1."

They seem to have some respect for the Phillies when they aren't saying stupid stuff. Someone did make a what could have been a funny "Phaillies" image if they didn't suck so bad at photoshop.
