Grabow could go to Florida with Stanton joining the Pirates. Interestingly, the Pirates are still talking to the Rays about Bay.

You can argue Lohse as well, but the two guys that were traded for Moyer -- Andrew Baldwin and Andrew Barb -- either are performing terribly (Baldwin) or haven't thrown a pitch this season (Barb). Moyer has given us two seasons of above-average pitching, looks to be able to give us two more months, and maybe more if he doesn't retire. He hasn't spent any time on the disabled list and has been a mentor to a lot of players on the team.

For all we like to rip on Gillick, his track record really isn't bad.
Marlins, Red Sox, Pirates Talking Manny Trade
By Tim Dierkes [July 30 at 8:52pm CST]
8:50pm: Will Carroll believes the Commissioner's Office has been informed of a Red Sox-Pirates-Marlins trade even though the teams haven't agreed on the prospects. Here's how he sees it:
Marlins get Manny Ramirez, one prospect (BOS), and cash (likely Ramirez’s remaining salary)
Pirates get Jeremy Hermida and three prospects (two FLO, one BOS)
Red Sox get Jason Bay and John Grabow

you are correct, the role players he has picked up have been great (the people above). but when you trade away your number 1 prospect (cardenas) for a fat pitcher, trade GIO and GAVIN for an injured pitcher, and trade an above average RF for CJ Henry, people are always going to complain
